A third-generation wine grower out of Nantes on the coast of the Loire Valley, Bernard Landron took it upon himself to demonstrate how great Melon B can be. Now based in the lesser know appellation of AOC Muscadet Coteaux de la Loire, Bernard grows and produces exceptional examples of Muscadet.

2020 Chateau Les Croisille Cahors `silice` Malbec, France $21.99
Grape: Malbec
Tasting notes: Smoky notes of sweet spices, ripe, and tasty black fruits. On the palate, the wine is tender and greedy.
Since arriving at the family estate in Luzech in 2007, Germain Croizille has trained his parents in his project to expand the vineyard to thirty hectares and convert it to organic in 2010, under the wise advice of an emblematic local figure. , Pascal Verhaeghe (Chateau du Cedre).

2021 Domaine Jean Fournier Marsannay Clos Du Roy Rouge, Burgundy, France $53.99
"Clos du Roy" will likely achieve 1er cru or even Grand Cru status within the next decade, as the vineyard has long been recognized as producing one of the most noble renditions of Marsannay, with comparisons to Corton Bressandes on the other side of the Côte d'Or.
This is a gorgeous midweight rendition of this vineyard- dark and earthy with violet-y floral notes and a hint of desiccated blueberry and forest floor on top of its cherry-plum fruit and bright mineral-tinged tannins.  It shows well now but, like all of Fournier’s wines, they are built to improve with age and I suspect this will be at its best in five or six years and keep for a lot longer if you have the patience.
