2022 Jean-Claude Buecher Esquisse Cremant D`Alsace, Alsace, France $29.99
Jean Claude Buecher’s Esquisse Crémant d’Alsace takes the region’s sparkling tradition to an elevated, artisanal level. Sourced from organically farmed vineyards at the foothills of the Vosges mountains, this bottling is built on finesse and meticulous cellar work. A blend dominated by Pinot Blanc, it undergoes a slow, cool fermentation before extended lees aging, which lends it both aromatic complexity and textural depth. The nose opens with white flowers, pear, and citrus zest, while hints of almond and brioche from the lees weave in gracefully. On the palate, the wine is taut and racy yet polished, carrying a refined mousse that delivers flavors of lemon curd, green apple, and chalky minerality. There’s a balance of energy and creaminess that makes it as versatile at the dinner table as it is compelling on its own. This is a sparkling wine that captures the precision of Champagne but wears the lift, freshness, and sense of place that only Alsace can provide.

2021 Domaine Ernest Burn Alsace Riesling, Alsace, France $29.99
This Grand Cru-caliber Riesling from the granitic Rosacker lieu-dit presents a luminous green-gold robe. The profound nose layers petrol, lime zest, and crushed seashell aromas over a base of white peach. The palate delivers electrifying precision - flavors of green apple, preserved lemon, and wet slate build to a crescendo that critics unanimously awarded 94 points. With 8.1g/L TA balanced by 13% alcohol, this 2021 will evolve beautifully for 15+ years. Whole-cluster pressed and fermented with native yeasts, it's bottled without fining to preserve its crystalline purity. Decant for Thai green curry or simply savor its terroir transparency alone.

In the Southern stretch of Alsace, Domaine Ernest Burn cultivates 10 ha of vines in the village of Gueberschwihr. Burn farms Gewurztraminer, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Sylvaner, each with their unique character, bear the imprint of their grape variety, their terroir which is dominated by the marine oolithic limestone. These vines reflect 350 years of family winemaking tradition for Francis Burn and his wife Simone who pursue the ideals they received in inheritance: respecting the ecosystem of the vineyard and traditional vinification.
An average of 45 year old vines are planted on Sandstone, Limestone, and Loose
clay soils.  The juice is vinified in steel tanks. The resulting wine undergoes full malo.
The wine is aged for 6 months before being bottled.

2023 Dom Moulin La Viguerie Tavel Rose, Rhone Valley, France $22.99
4 Monos (4 Monkeys) is a team of four friends and lovers of wine native to this region. As is typical of The New Spain, this “gang of four” assembled in a less conventional manner: they met while hiking in the Gredos mountains, one of the most profound wine terroirs to emerge in recent years.

Located 80km west of Madrid, the Sierra de Gredos is a mountain range that spreads over parts of three appellations – Méntrida, Vinos de Madrid, and Castilla y León – and sits between 600 and 1200 meters in elevation. Old bush vines planted on sand, granite, and schist intermingle with sweet-scented olive, evergreen, almond, and chestnut trees, scrub brush, chamomile, and wildflowers.

GR-10 Blanco is the team's Vino de Sierra or "villages level" white from vineyards in Cadalso de los Vidrios and San Martín de Valdeiglesias. Grapes are hand-harvested, cold- macerated whole cluster for 6 hours, pressed and wild yeast fermented in steel tank and barrel for 40 days, then raised in neutral 300 liter barrels for 6 months.

Varieties: About 60% Albillo, with Macabeu, Chelva Blanca, Chelva
Rosa, and Muscat.

2023 Domaine Rochette Morgon Cote Du Py, Beaujolais, Fance $35.99
The present day Rochettes fronted by winemakers Joël and Matthieu come from a family of winegrowers stretching back several generations! With 15 hectares of vines planted in Gamay they produce five titles, including 4 crus. The area is located 300 metres on the hillside overlooking the Ardière Valley, offering visitors a magnificent view over the vineyard.

The Py is a fairly large hill, but with a modest height and a basement of blue rock. It is the centre of the AOC Morgon. Aromas of cherries and blackberries. Tannic, rich wine with good ageing potential. A small part of Morgon Côte du Py was raised in oak barrels for 15 months. This makes it more tannic, harmonious, with complex, subltle aromas of vanilla.

The Rochettes work with a very traditional but also clearly very rigorous approach to the viticulture, and, as usual in Beaujolais, where the 'gobelet' training of the vines make them impossible to work by machine, they hand-pick and make a severe selection in the vineyard. Vinification is traditional, 'en cuve', to make wines which accentuate fruit purity. The wines have a real identity of their own - as Matthieu says "it is the terroir that gives us the distinction to the wines - we do not interfere in the cellar - and they all come from the same grape - Gamay".

2023 Mas De Boislauzon La Chaussynette Rouge, Rhone Valley, France $16.99
A delightful blend of Grenache and Syrah, La Chaussynette offers a beautiful bouquet of ripe berry fruits complemented with notes of mixed herbs. The medium-bodied palate is loaded with ripe strawberry and raspberry flavors accented with touches of lime zest, mint and fennel. The wine possesses moderate tannins and a lifted acidity that support this wonderful red to a long, saline-laced finish. Pair with veal sautéed with mushrooms or roast pork tenderloins with peppers and onions.

The Estate:  Christine and Daniel Chaussy, brother and sister, are the 5th generation to lead Mas de Boislauzon. Today, the sixth has joined them. The domaine, located in Orange, in the north of the appellation Chateauneuf-du-Pape, covers 11 acres of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 19 acres in Côtes du Rhône Villages and 2 acres in Vin de France. All vines have been organically farmed since 2012.
Vineyard:  Vines are grown in pebble covered clay soils.

NV Clos Des Papes Le Petit Vin D`Avril Rouge, Rhone Valley, France $36.99
The red NV Le Petit Vin d’Avril gets better and better. A kitchen sink blend of Grenache, Syrah, Marsalan, Merlot and Carignan that comes from vines located near the Rhone River, it’s a brilliant bistro-styled wine that dishes out tons of pleasure. Aged one-third in barrel, with tobacco, chocolate, mineral, pepper and licorice, this medium-bodied wine has solid richness and depth, as well as a chewy finish. Buy it by the case and enjoy it over the coming 4-5 years.-Robert Parker

This wine is produced by the owner of Clos des Papes, Vincent Avril.  It is aged 1/3 in barrel and is a blend of 2/3 current vintage and 1/3 the previous vintage which is why this is a non-vintage wine. A wonderful, fun and easy-drinking red this is a great value and definitely displays the Clos des Papes lineage.
