The Wines

2022 Lingua Franca Avni Chardonnay, Willamette Valley, Oregon $32.99

The 2022 Avni Chardonnay opens with graceful layers of mineral, citrus, white flowers, and spice on the nose. On the palate, it is vibrant and beautifully balanced, with a round texture and a clean, lingering finish. Labor-intensive barrel fermentation and aging, together with a spontaneous malolactic fermentation, gently soften the region’s natural acidity. Subtle notes of lemon peel, green apple, and river stone mingle with a delicate hint of pear and quince, offering remarkable nuance and finesse.

2022 Lingua Franca Sisters Chardonnay, Willamette Valley, Oregon $75.99
Very complex and elegant aromas of yellow flowers, musk, incense, lemon blossom and sea spray make are backed up by the palate of bright citrus, spice and green apple, very persistent flavors through the long finish when salinity reappears as a coda. This is a spicy,  mouthwatering and seductive Sisters 2022.
Vineyard Sources: 50% of 2022 Sisters Chardonnay is sourced from Lynx Hill Vineyard, a neighboring vineyard site just south of us in the EolaAmity Hills ideally suited to grow
Chardonnay. The remaining 50% if from one of our favorite high altitude Chardonnay vineyards in South-West Salem, Maple Grove Vineyard.

2022 Lingua Franca Estate Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon $47.99
Lingua Franca Estate Pinot Noir is sourced from several parcels throughout the Lingua Franca Estate Vineyard in Willamette Valley's Eola-Amity Hills.  Lingua Franca Estate Pinot Noir begins with a heady scent of roses and red fruits. On the palate, the wine is quite dense and rich, powerful in expression, with a perfect balance of red and black fruits, dark plum, pomegranate and raspberry, then the nuances of wet stone, savory herbs come through in the lifted lingering finish and velvety texture. Lingua Franca Estate is beautifully located in the heart of the Eola-Amity Hills, dry farmed organically on Jory, Gelderman and Nekia soils.

2022 Lingua Franca The Plow Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley, Oregon $59.99
The fruit for The Plow 2022 comes principally from the finest of our blocks, Block 1, with a special massal selection of PN777. The fruit is grown on Gelderman-Jory soils with a layer of large gravels that impart extra energy to the vines and create more complex flavors. In 2022 the fruit from three other blocks was incorporated into the final cuvée for the first time. Adding roundness from PN 115 in Block 3, power from Calera Clone in Block 6, and structure from PN 943 in Block 4, which is adjacent to Block 1. It may be the most intensely aromatic Plow produced to date. On entry there is a burst of red and black cherry, pomegranate with a finish that is structured and layered with ripe tannins. There is greater volume and dimensionality in this vintage, promising a long and beautiful life ahead.
