NV Hubert Clavelin Brut Cremant Du Jura, Jura, France $29.99
100% Chardonnay from the Jura (nestled between Burgundy and Switzerland), hand harvested and whole cluster pressed. Méthode champenoise, meaning, the second fermentation (the one that gives it bubbles!) happens in the bottle. Each bottle is aged 24 months and is hand-riddled. The wine has received great press in The Wine Advocate and consistently wins prizes in France. It is festive and celebratory, with fine bubbles, and you can drink it from the beginning of the party to the end.
2024 Domaine De Sacy Sancerre Blanc, Loire Valley, France $39.99
Lemony citrus on the nose, framed by notes of ripe pear and gooseberry. Refreshing acidity on the medium-bodied palate, with flavors of citrus, peach, melon, and wet stone, with traces of ginger and lychee.
Excellent value and classic with great terroir expression. It’s from old vines (up to 70 years), organically farmed and planted entirely in terres blanches (or the famous Kimmerigian limestone also found in Chablis) soils - the source of Sancerre’s purest, most quintessential and longest lasting wines.
2021 Domaine Les Aphillanthes Cotes Du Rhone Rose, Rhone Valley, France $19.99
This vintage shows even more intensity with its vivid coral hue and explosive aromas of blood orange, watermelon, and wet stone. The winemaker's earlier harvest and extended lees contact create surprising texture, with flavors of red currant, pink grapefruit, and a pronounced mineral backbone. Earning 92 points, the wine finishes with a whisper of white pepper, making it an exceptional pairing for grilled seafood or spicy Asian cuisine.
2024 Domaine Bastide Blanche Bandol Rose, Provence, France $34.99
Varietal: Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenach
Taste: This is a pale salmon-pink with coppery highlights. Aromas unfold with wild red berries, blood orange, and dried herbs, followed by notes of white pepper, rose petals, and crushed stone. The palate is taut and driven. Mourvedre brings saline, savory, and mineral notes with a core of red currant, pink grapefruit, and green strawberry. Cinsault brings a delicate lift of freshness, while Grenache adds soft fruit tones that round out the mid-palate. The finish is long and energetic, underscored by herbal bitterness and a firm, almost chalky salinity.
Pairing: Bandol rosé, especially those with a Mourvèdre-heavy profile, handles rich textures, earthy herbs, and bold seasoning with ease. Match the wine’s vibrant acidity and subtle grip with grilled fish, charred vegetables, or garlicky sauces. Provençal dishes, such as anchoïade with crudités or pissaladière, are traditional pairings that highlight its savory backbone.
About: Domaine de la Bastide Blanche is in the commune ofSainte-Anne d’Evenos, a small village in the western reaches of the Bandol AOC in Provence. The estate was founded in the early 1970s by Michel and Louis Bronzo, brothers originally from Marseille, who left behind careers in industry to pursue a more rural way of life.
2023 Chateau Greffiere Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Burgundy, France $25.99
Beautiful, light, and savory Pinot Noir. The bouquet presents dried rose petals while the palate displays soft, lively notes of cherry, raspberry, and earth. An impressive wine from a region where it’s increasingly hard to find good value.
Pairings: Duck breast, creamy brie, mushroom risotto
Since 1924 and through 4 successive generations, the Greuzard family has been vinifying the different terroirs of the Château appellations. Their know-how is the result of a balance between the traditions and the techniques of today. Working the land is the basis of their profession. They work in a traditional way in order to let the terroirs express themselves. The Greuzard family seeks the best balance between soil, plant and man.
2023 Domaine St. Damien Vacqueyras, Rhone Valley, France $33.99
A biodynamically farmed vineyard. This has a grenache heavy nose with a silky feel. Berries of all colors, red, blue, and purple. It’s super juicy, fresh, and drinkable.
Grape(s): 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah
Tasting Notes: It boasts nicely concentrated fruit notes of blueberries and cherries tinged with licorice. It’s full-bodied, supple, and ripe, maybe a touch tannic to drink on its own but just right to pair with red meat off the grill.
Notes: Hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, it’s aged in concrete to preserve purity. A structured, spicy Southern Rhône red with depth and mineral freshness.
Food pairing: Grilled Lamb (especially with Mediterranean herbs or couscous), Skirt Steak with Romesco
Roasted Red Cabbage or Sweetbreads, Lamb Rogan Josh or Lamb Stifado, Milk Chocolate
Winery Story:
