2024 Hopler Gruner Veltliner, Burgenland, Austria $21.99
Grüner Veltliner (grooner velt-lee-ner) is Austria’s national grape. Famous for its crispness and trademark peppery nose, it has won the hearts of sommeliers across the world for its versatility. It meets the challenges of earthy fresh asparagus and artichokes without making them taste vegetal. It matches perfectly with oyster, peppery wasabi and salads. It is a wine that whispers and can dance to many tunes. Elegant and never dull.

Nose: Aromas of pear, tangerine and lime
Palate: Ripe citrus fruit

2022 Hopler Pinot Noir, Burgenland, Austria $29.99
Pinot Noir from Austria is rarely found however this is initially what intrigued us on tasting this French variety planted in the heart of wine country in Austria. Elegant and aromatic on the palate. Aged for just over a year in used oak barrels (2nd and 3rd pass). No surprise that there is limestone found in the vineyards along with clay. These are ideal matches for Pinot Noir. The Höpler winery is a family-owned estate located southeast of Vienna in the region of Burgenland.
2021 Pannonica Red, Burgenland, Austria $16.99
Pannonia was once a province during the Roman empire and is the reference point for this delightful red Austrian blend made of Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and even Pinot Noir. Unoaked, easy-drinking and can even be enjoyed with a modest chill.
This wine showcases enticing aromas of dark berry fruits and pepper, leading to a palate bursting with juicy blackberries, subtle spice notes, and velvety tannins. Perfectly paired with a range of dishes, this wine promises a delightful sensory experience. With a harmonious blend of flavors, it offers a delightful experience from start to finish.
2021 Hopler Blaufrankisch, Burgenland, Austria $28.99
Winemaker Notes: Blaufränkisch is the second most widely planted red grape in Austria and our region Burgenland is particularly famous for this grape variety. It is a noble and exciting grape which can express the origins where it is grown. We have a big soft spot for this variety and in time it will deservedly earn a place in the spot light next to the famous Austrian Grüner Veltliner.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Dark ruby red
Nose: Aromas of blackberries and cherries
Palate: Juicy and lively with a velvety texture and elegant structure
Food pairing: Anything roasted and meats with a little more fat – lamb, turkey, goose, pork belly even paneer!
