"In 2015, I was awarded “Winemaker of the Year” by the San Francisco Chronicle, just over a year after being named one of Wine Enthusiast’s “40 Under 40 America’s Tastemakers”.

Bibiana González Rave crafts her Alma de Cattleya wines as
high-quality offerings representing the uniqueness of northern
California Sonoma and County. Alma means “soul” in Spanish
and Cattleya is a national flower of her native country, Columbia.
These wines are the perfect accompaniment to every day meals
and relaxing moments.

The Wines

2024 Pisoni Vineyards Lucy 'Pico Blanco', Monterey County, California $32.99

The 2024 Pico Blanco introduces a new element of Monterey County with fruit from the historic Chalone Vineyard. With this addition, the Lucy Pico Blanco portrays two important regions and terroirs of Monterey County: Pinot Blanc from the ancient limestone deposits of Chalone and Pinot Gris from the decomposed granite found in the Santa Lucia Highlands. This wine starts with layers of fresh minerality and bright floral notes. Pale straw in the glass, the wine is tightly-packed and focused, but slowly unfolds to show scents of fresh apricot, lemon blossoms, and lychee. These notes burst to life with a refreshing wave of acidity. Crisp and bright, this is a wine that is light on its feet and will pair well with many seafood dishes. Zippy acidity with a citrus finish gives this wine a beautiful snapshot of California’s coastal Monterey County.

2022 Cattleya 'Cuvée Number Five' Chardonnay, Sonoma Coast, California $68.99
The 2022 Cuvee Number Five Chardonnay is a blend of two vineyards, with only 300 cases made. It swans out with showy notes of beeswax, candied ginger, and orange blossom leading to a core of pineapple upside-down cake and guava with a touch of apple butter. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and taut, with spicy tropical fruit supported by well-knit freshness and a satiny texture, finishing with epic length. (LPB)

2024 Alma De Cattleya Rose Of Pinot Noir, Sonoma County, California $31.99
Contained within shades of salmon and coral, this beautiful rosé of Pinot noir, exudes, notes of macerated, strawberry, ruby, grapefruit, and crushed white flowers. On the pallet, flowers of red raspberry, watermelon, and orange peel with a hint of crisp, white peach dance on the glass before lively, unmistakably fresh finish.
The grapes are placed directly into the press after hand-sorting. Our small winery operation allows us to give great attention to detail and all aspects of the winemaking process. The end result is a bright, crisp Rosé of Pinot Noir, with intense and complex aromatics.
Aging: This wine was aged in natural French barrels for five months before bottling

2023 Cattleya Pinot Noir 'Belly of the Whale' Sonoma Coast, California  $88.99
The 2022 Pinot Noir Belly Of The Whale is sourced from Dijon clones from the Sun Chase Vineyard, the highest rocky site they work with, where the vines struggle to grow. In the glass, it pours a ripe magenta with a light purple tone and offers a more complex, concentrated profile int its notes of wild black raspberries, violets, pine needles, sous bois, and dark stones. Medium-bodied, it brings more intensity to the palate and has great freshness and a long finish. Polished, very well-styled, and layered but not heavy, it’s going to be long-lived for this vintage. Very well done. Drink 2026-2037. 96 points Jeb Dunnick

2023 Alma De Cattleya Syrah, Sonoma County, California $36.99
Fruit for our Syrah is grown in the rolling hillsides and sedimentary soil of Sonoma County. The grapes are hand harvested at night and immediately hand sorted at the winery. The fruit is fermented in stainless steel, close-top tanks with a short cold soak before the fermentation is allowed to begin. When fermentation is complete, the wine is drained from the tank and skins are gently pressed. This wine is then aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 months.
This North Rhône inspired Syrah makes a bold first impression with it’s rich garnet hue and fragrant nose, offering generous aromas of fresh Jasmine and Violets. On the palate, flavors of licorice, blackberries and strawberry reduction are followed by subtle supporting notes of cinnamon and clove with just a hint of cigar box, creating a captivating and well balanced wine.
