The Wines

NV Pojer e Sandri Zero Infinito Pet Nat, Trentino, Italy $32.99
Funky in a good way, this is an ancestral method sparkling wine made with Zero intervention. The grape is Solaris. It's a hybrid grape, invented in Germany in the 1970s, that thrives in Italy's mountainous Trentino region. Since the fermentation finishes in the bottle, there's natural sediment in the bottle which gives the wine its cloudy appearance. On the palate, though, the wine has very clean and bright notes of peach and cherry. It's like a fruit cocktail in your mouth which ends deliciously dry. I'll have another please. ~Allegra A

2024 Domaine LeSimple Et Fils Sancerre, Loire Valley, France $29.99
This 100% Sauvignon Blanc delights with a brilliant pale yellow color and a bouquet that captures the essence of Sancerre. The nose reveals a symphony of aromas: zesty citrus fruits like grapefruit and lemon, exotic fruits such as mango and lychee, delicate floral notes of white flowers and shrub broom, herbaceous hints of blackcurrant leaf and asparagus, a touch of licorice spice, and a striking mineral backbone of smoky flint. On the palate, the wine delivers a vibrant lemony attack, waking the taste buds with lively acidity and spiciness. A second sip reveals a supple texture and full-bodied character, influenced by the stony soils. The interplay of minerality and vivacity makes this wine a stunning expression of Sancerre’s terroir.

Located a few kilometres west of Sancerre, in the highly renowned village of Chavignol, the estate is part of a family history that draws on expertise and legacy that has been passed on for 4 generations. A blend of grapes from plots in the villages of Chavignol, Amigny, Saint-Satur, Verdigny and Sury-en-Vaux.   Neutral yeasts are used to start fermentation.  The must undergoes fermentation in stainless steel and concrete tanks.  Aged on fine lees for 6 months.

2023 Domaine Daridan Cheverny White, Loire Valley, France $19.99
Domaine Daridan is located in Cour-Cheverny, in the heart of the Loire Valley. The history of our family winery dates back to 1740.

Our vineyard is certified Organic for appellations Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny, and in conversion for Touraine.

80% Sauvignon - 20% Chardonnay
Very fresh notes with citrus notes such as grapefruit, fruits with white flesh. The mouth is lively, round, with a substance present and a good balance. A wine with freshness and minerality, elegant and fine.

2022 Les Cardinaux Cote De Brouily, Beaujolais, France $24.99
Domaine Les Cardinaux sits on an outstanding terroir on the Côte de Brouilly. The 2.4 hectares of vine are grown on the slopes of Mont Brouilly facing 359° north. The soils are made up of volcanic and plutonic rocks and we find in our plot the famous Côte de Brouilly blue stones composed of hard schist and diorite. Elegant and medium bodied, it develops aromas of fresh fruit and peppery notes. The blue stones endow the wine with a powerful and complex character complemented with smokey and saline notes.

2022 Chateau des Roques Vaqueyras Rouge, Rhone Valley, France $27.99

Its floral nose, marked by violet and peony, along with dark fruits and a smooth structure, defines a refined and flowing 2022 vintage with low tannins, an infused and precise profile that is particularly charming. 2019 Maccan Refosco Grave,  Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy $23.99
Refosco is not a household name anywhere but in Friuli. One of the main native red grapes of the area, it is known for its complex and savory flavors. The Maccan Refosco is pervasive with notes of wild red fruits, smoky spice, and a rustic earthiness. This ancient variety captivates with a medium body of complex, savory density balanced by subtle tannins and a fresh minerality.

Friuli is unlike any other part of Italy with Germanic and Slovenian influences that date back centuries. The region’s capital city, Trieste, was once the major port for the Austrian Hungarian empire and it was in 1977 that the city was officially recognized as part of Italy. They do things their own way here and have amazing local varieties and culture.

The Maccan family closely connects to their vineyards in the heart of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in the town of Pordenone. From their estate vineyards they focus on crafting accessible wines with bright fruit and perfect balance. Through properly limiting yields, this region’s chalky limestone and gravel soils are perfect for making white wines that are lively, light, and fresh on the palate. The red wines favor plots with a mixture of clay and gravel. Integrated farming techniques are combined with minimal intervention in the winery; low sulfites, no fining, and gentle filtering. These wines represent a more natural, yet clean approach to winemaking. Certified ISO sustainable, integrated farming practices and nearly 100% renewable energy and waste management.
